GAME GUIDE
About Zombie Road Escape
This zombie driving game puts you behind the wheel in a free-driving horde arena. Steer, accelerate, ram infected, and let your weapons fire as you move. Collect dropped XP to choose upgrades during the run. The original Zombie Road Escape campaign remains available as a separate mode.
How to play the zombie car game
- Enter the horde and actively accelerate to move your car into the arena.
- Steer through openings, watch enemy attack warnings, and use your weapons and collisions to fight.
- Drive near dropped XP to collect it and choose upgrades when you level up.
- Keep an escape route available as pressure grows. Use pause or the menu when you need a break.
Driving controls
W or the up arrow accelerates; A and D or the left and right arrows steer. S or the down arrow reverses, Shift brakes, Space boosts, and P pauses. Guns fire automatically, leaving you to manage movement, positioning, and pickups.
On touch screens, use the steering joystick and the driving buttons. Steering sets your direction; acceleration is an active control. Watch your car and the nearby escape space while turning, rather than holding a direction without checking the field.
Collision kills, XP, and upgrades
Ramming and automatic fire give you different ways to handle approaching infected. Kills drop XP, so a useful route can bring you back through a cleared area to collect it. Avoid chasing a pickup straight into a warned attack.
Level-up choices change the current run. Read the card's trigger and effect before choosing: different upgrades reward different positions and driving decisions. Openings, enemy attacks, and optional supplies can give you a reason to change direction.
The original Road Escape campaign
You can also open the previous road campaign from the game. That mode uses staged roads, fuel, armor, obstacles, and a garage with per-vehicle upgrades. Its progress is kept separately from horde survival, so switching modes does not merge the two campaigns.
Local progress and backups
Supported progress is saved in this browser when storage is available. Use the game's save controls for a backup before clearing site data or moving devices. Horde upgrades belong to the current run; the previous road campaign has its own garage and progression rules.
Questions about Zombie Road Escape
- Does the car drive itself?
- No. You control acceleration, steering, reverse, braking, and boost. The weapons fire automatically while you drive.
- Can I still play the original road campaign?
- Yes. The previous Road Escape campaign is available from the game and retains separate local progress.
